Daddy is SO funny

Nico is very entertained by his Daddy as evident in this video.

Father's Day 2009

Mike requested fish and chips for Father's Day so we headed to Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica for an authentic British meal. We watched the sunset over the Pacific before heading home.

Firetruck Follies

The boys have Grandpa to thank for...

this super cool backyard firetruck that sprays water every which way.

Perfect for a hot, summer day! Spencer loves to play firefighter almost as much as he...

loves to sit in a real firetruck. Our local firefighters made Spencer's dream a reality.

Brotherly Love

Where is Thumbkin?

He's a lover not a fighter. Just recently Nico discovered how fascinating staring at his hands could be. It's a joy to watch him become aware of his body.

What Did You Say?

S - E - X . Those were the letters I heard Spencer saying this morning from the other room. I paused, waiting for what he would say next. S - E - X he repeated. My mind raced. Is he going to ask me a question about sex? I'm not ready for this. He's too young. What are they teaching him at preschool any way? S - E - X - O - B. I breathed a sign of relief. He recognizes all the letters of the alphabet now and likes to practice saying them aloud whenever he sees them on signs or packages. In this case, he was looking at a delivery of moving boxes we had delivered yesterday. Whew! Dodged that bullet... for now.

See How I Roll

Watch Nico roll from his tummy to his back for the second time ever.

Culver City Artwalk 2009

Mike and I took the boys to the 4th annual Culver City Artwalk the last weekend in May. Nico slept the entire time wrapped up against me but Spencer seemed more atune to the artwork this year. He especially enjoyed freestyle dancing in the courtyard of one of the galleries.

Spencer admired the use of color in this painting.

One of the coolest pieces of art we saw over the course of the morning was this hanging installation at the Angstrom Gallery.

Spencer examined the piece closely.

A last pose at Ballona Creek before heading home.
