Santa Monica Farmer's Market

We celebrated Saint Patrick's Day eve with a trip to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market. Spencer, having overcome his hesitation around horses, took a ride on a pony followed by his friend Sadie looking adorable in her sunglasses. Later they shared some roasted corn and danced a jig with the live band.

If you need me, I'll be building, building, building

We welcomed Daddy home after a week-long business trip in Japan by taking a stroll along Venice Beach. Spencer had brought along his trusty pail and shovel. He turned to us and said, "If you need me, I'll be building, building, building." Mike and I thought this a funny thing to say. Building sand castles? What could he be referring to? It turns out he had seen this exact turn of phrase in a book of his about a little boy who wants nothing more in life than to build snowmen. It apparently made quite an impression on Spencer.

Books, Dancing and More

Our friends Schawn and Keith graciously babysat for Spencer while Mommy and Daddy went to see U23D at the Arclight last month. What better place to entertain Spencer than at a bookstore. Spencer loved being read story after story, especially Curious George, an ongoing love affair. When he needed a break, he would run over to a book that played music, push the button and do a little dance. When Mommy and Daddy returned, he didn't want to leave until the story was over. A good time was had by all!
